What To Expect In IOS 9.3 Update?
The infamous 1970 bug which bricked iPhones, the FBI vs Apple battle on encryption, the much rumored iPhone SE, the Apple event to be held today is already under a lot of attention. One of the major talking points apart from the new hardwares is the update to its iOS 9 to 9.3. Although a minor update, it brings a lot of new features to the existing devices that run on iOS 9. Here is what one can expect from iOS 9.3.
1. Night Shift
We have written before how blue light exposure negatively affects the circadian rhythms and sleep quality. One of the ways to overcome this without sacrificing smartphone use was to use blue light filtering apps like F.lux. The Night Shift feature uses your iOS device's clock and geolocation to determine when it's sunset in your location. Then it automatically shifts the colours in your display to the warmer end of the spectrum, making it easier on your eyes.
2. More Secure Notes Apps
One of the apps that got numerous updates with iOS 9 was the Notes app, which was given folders and sketching functionality. Now with 9.3 you can secure the notes that contain your most personal data with password or Touch ID as more and more people start to use Notes app to store sensitive information.. Another addition is the ability to sort notes by date created, date modified or alphabetically.
3. More Personalised News App
Although not yet available officially in India, the News app gets an update as well. The users now get better tailored news and articles to their interests. Another addition is ability to play videos directly in the app if a news story contains videos.
4. Changes to the Health App
The Health app gets a visual overhaul with new update. Categories such as Weight, Workouts, and Sleep have a new slider menu that reveals great apps you can easily add to your Health dashboard. Additionally more integration with the Apple Watch is coming as the Health app also now displays your move, exercise, and stand data, as well as your goals, from Apple Watch. Also, now you can see all your health metrics in one place and easily share your data with third party apps.
